Celebrate the European Day of Languages 2026 with Una Europa! Sign up for free, online “bite-size” sessions to learn the basics in one of the official languages of Una Europa (or further afield!) in a relaxed setting with 45-minute 'taster' sessions, taught by qualified language tutors from across the alliance, or come along to a panel discussion on multilingualism with linguists and experts from the Una Europa community.

Dates: 23-37 November, University of Bologna 

Open to professionals working in doctoral education, research support or academic administration, the 2026 Staff Training Week at the University of Bologna, ‘Doctoral Education: Emerging Trends, Changing Practices’ will explore some of the most pressing topics shaping the future of doctoral education. 

Through peer-learning activities and networking opportunities, the programme will encourage participants to exchange experiences and discover innovative approaches to supporting PhD candidates and managing doctoral programmes.

Participation in the Unibo Staff Week is free for selected University of Edinburgh participants, but travel and accommodation expenses will need to be covered by local budgets. We recommend checking with your line manager prior to applying if funding will be available to support your participation if you are selected to attend.

Una Europa’s job shadowing for professional services staff at the alliance’s partner universities. The programme seeks to give professionals the opportunity to actively engage in the Una Europa community and get involved in peer-to-peer learning, providing an opportunity for mutual learning in a transnational context.
