National Chengchi University (NCCU)

National Chengchi University (NCCU) was founded in 1927, and for more than nine decades of reformation and development, has been upholding its motto, “Harmony, Independence, Balance and Preeminence”.

NCCU continues to refine its teaching methods and research in order to nurture talents for Taiwan and the world. The university currently has 12 colleges excelling in the liberal arts, law, commerce, science, foreign languages, social sciences, communication, international affairs, education, innovation, informatics, global banking and finance.

How much it will cost to go on exchange to NCCU?

You will need to consider establishment costs, which may include buying furniture, paying a rental bond, and setting up electricity, gas and mobile phone accounts. Other expenses, such as visa and medical fees (see ‘Health insurance’, below), as well as return airfares, should also be considered. Students are advised to research the cost of living in Taiwan, and remember that exchange rate variations may also affect your budget.

Visa considerations

You should expect to pay a processing fee to obtain your study visa for Taiwan.  Visa requirements can vary depending on your nationality.  

Health insurance

Semester-long exchange students must purchase an international medical insurance in their home country which covers their entire stay in Taiwan.

Year-long exchange students must purchase an international medical insurance in their home country which covers at least their first six-months in Taiwan (i.e., from September to February for the Fall term, and from February to July for the Spring term).  After six months of continuous residence in Taiwan, students must apply for the government-mandated National Health Insurance (NHI).
