Una Europa for students

The Festival of Languages invites all Edinburgh staff and students for a full day of celebration of multilingualism on campus with language taster sessions, talks and drop-in cultural workshops.

The event will also showcase a series of short videos from the Una Europa Edinburgh Student Network, uniting many languages through one shared greeting.

Ready to join forces with students from all over Europe to address pressing sustainability issues? Join the autumn 2026 edition of the Student Project Incubator, a hands-on programme where participants collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to address challenges at the intersection of chemistry, economics, and societal impact. 

Participants will receive guidance from expert mentors, engage in creative workshops, and gain access to inspiring keynotes, panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities as part of the conference “Sustainability in Higher Education – Between Transformation and Vibe Shifts” at Freie Universität Berlin.

Selected participants from the University of Edinburgh may be eligible to receive funding towards their travel and subsistence costs:

The Una Europa PhD Impact Award aims to recognise and celebrate the impact, and potential impact, of research and researchers. This year, PhD students are invited to apply to the Award by showcasing the impact of their research in the topics of:

• Cultural Heritage
• One Health
• Future Materials and Technologies.

The winners will be invited to the Una Europa General Assembly in Leuven, Belgium (16–18 November 2026) to showcase their research to the alliance community and network with other researchers from their field. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.

This free tool is offered exclusively to students at the University of Edinburgh and other Una Europa universities, and allows you to find a partner based on language goals, proficiency level and interests.

Consisting of five MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) which, once completed, award the learner with 10ECTS. After studying the introductory course, there are four additional courses covering the environmental, economic, and social aspects of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
