Scholarships and fellowships

Education Beyond Borders (EBB) offers programmes for both undergraduate and postgraduate students who have been displaced or are at risk.

We offer up to 20 postgraduate scholarships for displaced people already based in the UK. Successful applicants will receive partial or full funding for tuition fees and stipends to support full-time and on-campus study at the University of Edinburgh.

The University of Edinburgh works in partnership with the Council for At-Risk Academics (Cara) to host academics who are at risk of persecution, conflict or displacement. Through this programme, academics are supported to continue their research in a safe and stable academic environment.

The University of Edinburgh, in partnership with the Amjad & Suha Bseisu Foundation, are offering two fully-funded postgraduate scholarships for students from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine to undertake masters programmes in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The University of Edinburgh, in partnership with HESPAL, are offering one fully-funded postgraduate scholarships for junior academics employed by Palestinian universities.

 

The University will offer two awards for entry into academic year 2026-2027. The award offers tuition fee and living cost support to those most in need who are seeking asylum.
