LERU webinar on Knowledge Security and Open Science

How can universities balance knowledge security with open science?

This seminar will present findings from the Knowledge Security and Open Science project, a Swiss universities-mandated and funded initiative led by the University of Bern, the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich, and HES-SO between May 2025 and June 2026. The project examined how higher education institutions can put into practice the principle of being “as open as possible, as closed as necessary.”

The seminar is aimed primarily at university leaders and research management, but is open to anyone within a LERU university with an interest in the relationship between knowledge security and open science.
