Activity may include:
- supporting online or blended teaching through academic collaboration and digital infrastructure
- developing joint academic engagement where appropriate
- creating postgraduate pathways and academic opportunities
- supporting faculty collaboration and equitable exchange
- building research collaborations between UK and Gaza universities
These activities are undertaken by member universities, with the consortium providing a structure for coordination, information sharing and collaboration.
How the consortium works
UK-Pal provides a framework for participating universities to coordinate their engagement with Gaza’s universities. This includes:
- sharing information about existing initiatives and partnerships
- connecting institutions and academics with shared interests
- encouraging collaboration across participating universities
- facilitating twinning partnerships between UK and Palestinian universities
- supporting thematic academic engagement aligned with priority areas of Gaza’s universities
Partnership with the Emergency Committee of Universities in Gaza
Engagement with the Emergency Committee of Universities in Gaza provides the primary mechanism through which UK-Pal aligns activity with Gaza university priorities and supports partner-led collaboration.
Individual universities may develop their own partnerships and initiatives, while the consortium helps ensure that engagement remains informed and coordinated.
